Friends of ROSHNI UK was established in 2004, with the aim of supporting and advancing the invaluable work ROSHNI are carrying out in Gwalior. We are a registered charity, number 1117759. We registered with the UK Charity Commission in 2005
Friends of ROSHNI UK Mission Statement
Our mission is to support ROSHNI, India, in providing disabled children and young people in Gwalior and the surrounding districts with services and support in all areas of their development, from birth to adulthood. Together with ROSHNI, our vision is that this support will empower them to realise their full potential. We aim to enable them to be more independent, lead active and meaningful lives, and participate as valued members of their families and communities.

- providing training opportunities for staff and parents
- providing resources to enhance the delivery of their services
- preparing and sending skilled volunteers to work alongside staff in providing and developing high-quality health, therapeutic, educational and vocational support
- sponsoring individual children and young adults from disadvantaged families to provide educational and health support
- supporting ROSHNI in providing training and awareness raising in Gwalior for local health professionals, teachers, decision-makers and the wider community, including parents and families of people with disabilities
