In 2008, after several years fundraising and planning, Roshni’s new purpose built school was officially opened. The building is fully accessible to wheelchair users and those with mobility difficulties, as well as people with visual impairments.
The school has 3 classrooms, a Vocational Training Unit, a Pre-School Unit, Sensory Room, and a Therapy Department. There are several accessible bathrooms, and an internal courtyard play area with sandpit.
Around 100 children and young adults use the centre each week.
In 2016, the first floor of the building was completed, adding extra training space to the building. This gives Roshni to capacity to offer training courses to teachers and rehabilitation workers, ensuring their knowledge and expertise can be spread across the city and the wider district.
